PocketPills is seeking an experienced Email Delivery Specialist to drive email and SMS delivery to members as well as customers. This role is based in Surrey, BC (remote and contract options also available) and integral to our rapid growth and expansion. Ideal candidate for this role would have worked on setting up and configuring email service in the cloud and solved deliverability problems related to transactional as well as marketing emails. Having worked with  email service providers such as Google, Microsoft, Sendgrid, etc is a huge plus. 

 

Key Responsibilities

As an Email Deliverability Specialist, you will lead our effort to ensure optimal email deliverability and inbox placement for our email sends.

 

  • You’ll work with the Engineering and Marketing teams to provide reporting, best practices, strategic guidance and recommendations to improve email deliverability, recipient engagement and program performance.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations, reviews, and audits into email sending practices and provide actionable insights to improve deliverability.
  • Troubleshoot deliverability issues for rapid resolution; including blacklists, spam traps, and issues with ISPs.
  • Ensure inbox deliverability for various types of messages, including transactional messages, promotional messages, and notifications.
  • Monitor and report on email performance and deliverability, inbox placement, engagement metrics, create plans to improve inbox placement, and IP reputation.
  • Be proactive in gaining knowledge of new industry trends, emerging technology, ISP treatment of commercial email, industry groups, and recipient behavior.
  • Monitor and improve the reputation of our sending infrastructure.
  • Intimate knowledge of reputation management strategy and KPIs.
  • Setup daily, weekly, and executive level reports that track deliverability KPIs (inbox %, bounces, spam complaints, open rates, etc.).
  • Help launch new A/B tests, analyze results, and identify actionable opportunities and best practices to improve campaign performance.
  • Optimize lifecycle programs through testing of subject lines, call-to-actions, copy, content, and templates.

Requirements 

  • Experience of at least 5 years with tools and concepts such as Email Deliverability, Email on Acid, Litmus, Return Path, Spamhaus, M3AAWG, 250OK, and SNDS.
  • Experience working with Email Service Providers and ecosystem partners, such as Barracuda, to ensure high email deliverability, whitelisting and high domain reputation
  • Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization.
  • Understanding of data driven marketing and ability to synthesize data into insights and insights into actionable programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or substantial email marketing experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Experience managing email lists and customized, personalized email campaigns.
  • Understanding of responsive design, dynamic content, and email personalization. 
  • Experience with A/B & multivariate testing is a plus
