The Role:

We are seeking a HR Generalist  to join our growing human resources team, reporting to the HR Manager. You will work at our Mississauga, Ontario office location and work directly with our Recruitment and Human Resources team in our Greater Vancouver headquarters. You will support the Human Resources team by performing various tasks and functions including  on/off-boarding, benefit administration, employee relations/ engagement, recruitment, and occupational health & safety.  We are seeking a motivated, outgoing, and driven candidate to support our growth. Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the HR department in the ON & QC offices.
  • Coordinate the onboarding processes and facilitate new hire orientations.
  • Maintain information in HRIS to ensure consistency and integrity of HR data.
  • Full-cycle recruiting: assist our recruitment team with high-volume recruitment and working closely with hiring managers to create job descriptions, screen candidates, conduct interviews, call references, and prepare offers.
  • Maintains an active presence on social media platforms including LinkedIn to build the employer brand.
  • Assist in employee relation matters with managers on performance and/or disciplinary issues locally with support from the HR Manager.
  • Assist with payroll, working closely with accounting to ensure timeliness and thoroughness of payroll processing
  • Ad hoc HR administrative projects as assigned to support building out HR policies, processes and structure.
  • Develop and continuously update employee engagement initiatives.

Must-Haves:

  • Post-secondary education in HR, Business or related field. Working towards CHRP designation is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of HR administrative/ coordination experience. 
  • High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills. 
  • Knowledge of Provincial employment standards and legislation in various provinces in Canada.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and organize multiple tasks effectively and to see them through to timely completion. 
  • Experience working in a start-up environment is an asset.
  • Adaptable to change, possessing personal resilience, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
